The West Ward, Part I: A Programming Note

The West Ward is a place of contradiction. If you want photographic proof, look at the images here; both properties are directly across from each other on Walnut Street. Trying to speak to some of the Ward's denizens is difficult. One question that I was asked repeatedly by potential subjects was, "This isn't a police thing, is it?" or some variation of same. People also seemed to grow more suspicious after seeing my camera. However, over the next few weeks, intermittently, I am going to bring you interviews of people who live in the West Ward. Because one's reality is dictated by many factors, I am anticipating a wide range of answers and philosophies.  I want to document what I see and hear, as I usually do on this site.
