"I love being with my kids. I love cutting hair at the barbershop down the street."
He walked away and lit a cigarette. Then he turned around:
"I'm just a simple guy," he shrugged with his voice.

"So, what's the most important thing?"

"Yeah, life, 'cause I almost lost it two years ago. Come to think of it, I also almost lost it seven years ago when I got hit by a car. But I'm still alive."
Off camera, her friend kept yelling, "She's a superstar!"

"I'm putting a book in the kiosk. It's take one, put one, take one, put one. I took one last time and didn't have one to replace it, so I'm doing it now."
"That's so cool!"
"Yes it is... I have so many books to leave. I'm making my rounds. I have three Bibles I think I'm going to put in, but I don't know if it's really the place for them..."

"Wow! What kind of dog is that? He's humongous! And beautiful..."
"Thanks. Ace is a Deutsche glattes Haar, which means "straight hair." He's probably not gonna sit for you... He's not very photogenic..."

Tiny snowflakes had started to fall yesterday afternoon on the gathering of Easton police officers and firefighters in Centre Square. Chief Carl Scalzo told me, "It's the nine year anniversary of our fallen police officer Jesse Sollman. It was a horrible incident, and we gather here every year on March 25th to mourn and remember all three of our Easton officers who gave their lives in the line of duty."

The Viet Hua Asian grocery store is really intriguing, with myriad vegetables, fruits, and canned goods I can't identify but look amazingly delicious. When I turned the corner in the aisle, I found a little boy slumped on top of a freezer, looking like an oversized pillow, contentedly watching a show on an iPhone while his mom did some business.
