Life In The WEst Ward: A Crossing Guard's Dilemma

Sixth and Northampton

"I am the crossing guard assigned here for the children that attend March Elementary School and it's dangerous, and also the middle school bus stops here and I would love to cross  them, but I'm not allowed to cross the middle school students. Traffic is dangerous and they're all our children and there needs to be a crossing guard here for them. The *only* way that I can get that position, that paid position, is for the police to say so. I crossed them last year from the goodness of my heart."
