Her tattoo reads, "Dolore Faun Piuforte." I asked her what that meant: "When I was younger, I had a hard time growing up with my father; there were a lot of issues. I would go over to my girlfriend's house and her grandmother from Italy lived with her and spoke no English. When I would come over all upset, she would say to me, 'Dolore faun piuforte,' which means 'pain makes one stronger.' And at sixteen, living in Long Island, I went to Manhattan and got it tattooed across my chest."
